Stella Chiweshe - The Mbira queen of Zimbabwe, is the first female artist to gain in prestige and be honoured with recognition in a music tradition that has been dominated by men. Mbira music is known as the backbone of Zimbabwean music. She is a professional artist, in the entertainment industry and in the international music circuit who has won several awards in her own country including the Masters of Arts Degree in 2003 from the University of Zimbabwe.

A bedrock of British traditional music is to be expected from Steeleye Span’s legendary fiddle player Peter Knight, but 'Gigspanner’s' musical reach also draws on Eastern European, French, African and Aboriginal influences.
