Local Sights

South Devon is well known as being a place of outstanding natural beauty. The coastline stretches out for miles with plenty of award winning beaches to explore.
To the North lies Dartmoor, with legendary Tors, cobble stone villages and the beautiful river Dart flowing steadily Southward.

Recommended beaches such as Bantham, Thurlestone and Blackpool Sands are great for days out and picnics. Hope Cove offers a variety of beaches, coastal cliff walks, as well as an art gallery and the last of the evening sun.

Shopping-wise, the quaint market towns of Totnes and Kingsbridge are nearby, hosting regular farmers and craft markets. For harbour-side, boutique style shopping  Salcombe and Dartmouth are a must, with galleries and cafes and beautiful views.

For families, the action packed Woodlands leisure park is only half an hours drive. Paignton zoo is excellent and the Plymouth Aquarium is right on the Barbican, the only part of Plymouth worth visiting.

If you are a keen adventurer, there are many activity centres, with the latest fad being surfing lessons. There are watersports on offer, several golf courses, hiking trails, riding centres and bicyle hire. For more information go to the Visit South Devon website.
